Last night I did something that I haven't done in all of the years that I've lived in the condo complex in Fremont: I used the pool. When I first moved here, they didn't give me a key to the pool, and for one reason or another I didn't make an issue of getting one. Every now and then I'd think about it, but there's always be a reason why I couldn't get one. A few months ago, they finally sent me a key. Yesterday, I took a day off from my usual walking regimen to see if that would help the apparent strain heal (it does feel much better). That evening, I decided to give the pool a try (which also gave me a chance to use the pool/beach shoes I'd bought in Australia but never used since then). I swam a couple of laps and sat in the hot tub for a while. My leg does feel a bit better for having had the rest, too.

I don't need a sore leg with the next three weeks ahead of me, what with Worldcon and moving.
