I met the seller at the title company this morning. I signed the various disclosure forms and waivers — as the seller said and I agree, thanks to my having engaged an independent housing inspector, I probably know more about the house than he did — then signed the offer contract, the seller signed the acceptance, I wrote the earnest money check to the title company and a first-month's-interim-rent check to the seller, and we were done. We close November 1, the earliest date he's allowed to actually sell to us. Now we check out of the Atlantis and drive out to Fernley, where there is a key waiting for us, store two vehicles in the garage, and head for Oregon. Lots of travel ahead.
