Family & Friends

Thanks to us having got into town early yesterday, we were able to spend a fairly leisurely morning rather than rushing back and forth to the locker before heading out to my grandfather's house in Sutter, where my mother and her husband, Vince, had just arrived. Shortly thereafter, my sister Kelli and nephew Shane arrived, although Shane immediately left to go see his friends. I spent most of the afternoon visiting with my family, and my mother made lunch for us all. I get along very well with my family, and we do like to get together, but it's probably pretty boring for anyone else. (cherylmorgan did fall asleep, as did Vince, but they both do that after lunch anyway.)

Having had a very nice, quiet day, we said our goodbyes and headed back to the hotel and called Gigi to make our dinner plans for later that evening. She and her friend Trish met us at our hotel and we went to A Taste of India, where we had another nice meal and good conversation -- twice in the same day.

I know this is a big convention weekend, and part of me misses not being at Norwescon or even Eastercon, but on the other hand, this has been a very nice weekend, too. I only wish the bed here at the Holiday Inn Express wasn't so hard.
