I Should Have Bought a Season Pass...

Thanks to Eric Larson, I was able to get down to Friday's performance of The Game Show Show without having to worry about how to get back on public transit. This was, as far as I can remember, my sixth performance I've seen, and second of the retooled version. But as before, every performance is different in various ways. For instance, this was the first time I've ever seen all three Act 1 questions fail, even the sing-along, which is normally a "gimmie," but the contestant flubbed it.

It's vaguely embarrassing that I've been to so many shows that the cast and crew remember me by name. I'd go tomorrow night as well if I could figure out a way to get there easily. On the other hand, I have to be up way too early on Sunday morning in order to get going on the bus to the train to Nevada, so maybe it's just as well.

Not that I expect them to have the time next year, but I did invite Shannon and Stephen Guggenheim (the leads of Game Show Show) to be panelists on Match Game SF in Sacramento at Westercon. I did make a point of saying, "I mean you personally, not your characters!" I don't want people to think I'm such a fanboy that I can't make the distinction. As I said to Stephen, "I thought you might appreciate being able to play the game without having to sing a musical number in the middle of the game."
