Meanwhile, tonight we have no trains and probably won't until tomorrow morning. If I understood the radio traffic on the scanner correctly, after Amtrak #6 (the eastbound California Zephyr for Chicago) went by this afternoon, Union Pacific closed the tracks for 16 hours in order to repair a stretch of track that has had a 10 MPH speed restriction on it that might explain why the westbound Zephyr has been two hours late the last few mornings. I'm guessing that they were able to divert freight traffic through Feather River Canyon.
