As I was leaving the Post Office on my usual post-lunch walk to collect the mail, I saw this whirlwind in the distance. It's difficult to judge distance, but this may have kicked up on the sandy flats south of I-80 and north of the railroad tracks. The baby tornado lifted a cloud of dust several hundred meters high into the sky before dispersing.

A younger sibling of the whirlwind kicked up a small funnel of diatomaceous earth at the Imerys Celite plant on Front Street as I walked home.
I'm glad the Big Wind didn't roll through Fernley House.
