Silent Wife

Lisa woke up this morning with almost no voice. She writes that it doesn't actually hurt, unless she tries to speak. Possibly whatever was afflicting me earlier this week -- I had a very sore throat through the first three days of Worldcon, which is not good when you're someone who talks as much as I do -- has its hooks in her, or maybe something else. She really hasn't felt very well at all for much of the last ten days. Y'all who saw her at Worldcon saw her for the few hours of energy she'd have before having to go back and lie down for hours to recharge. It was very hard on her, and she did very much want to participate more on the convention.

Within the next hour, we will be on the road again heading for the Bay Area. Lisa's plan is to continue on to Oregon this afternoon/evening. The only problem with us getting off to such a slow start from here is that she'll be leaving the Bay Area during the afternoon commute, which is not a good thing.
