Supporting the Cause

The Lyon County Democratic Party was on station today handing out yard signs for various candidates. I got there just a few minutes before they ended. I offered to make a donation, as I know signs aren't at all free, but they weren't allowed to take donations. However, one of the people there was the husband of the woman running for county commission, and I was able to donate $20 toward her campaign.

Election Season

When we got home, Lisa got out the zip-ties and mounted our signs to the front fence. The placement is such is that passing trains (including the two Amtraks, alas about to drop from daily to 3x/week) should be able to see them in most circumstances, although only the Biden sign would likely matter there.

I have to admit to being a little leery about being so obviously a Democrat in an area that is nearly 80% Republican, although recent developments give me a bit more hope. I was disappointed (although not surprised) to see a Trump sign over by the edge of town vandalized. I don't want people attacking those signs, because it would just embolden people to do it to the other side.
