Service Interruption

When I came over to my father-in-law's house this morning to start work, I discovered that my machine wouldn't connect to the internet. Confirming that the network connection to his router was okay, I asked him if he could connect -- he could not. After he spent some time fiddling with things, I suggested he call his ISP's tech support. Eventually, he did, and after talking with them for a while, he put me on the line while we did troubleshooting. For reasons unclear, it appears the router had gone back to its default configuration, which meant it wouldn't connect. Possibly he bumped the reset switch while moving other things around. Anyway, we got him (and me) back on-line. Fortunately for me, there was nothing critical needing my immediate attention this morning.
