Low Heat

Although there's been lots of snow in the Sierra — I-80 was closed for a while today as they were holding traffic for snow clearance — and we had rain here today at times, it's been surprisingly warm (i.e. 10°C). That means I haven't had to keep the fireplace burning at full tilt. On the other hand, it's a bit harder to keep the fire at "tickover" because if you aren't paying attention, the fire can go out on you. I'm not complaining, but it does mean I have to watch the fire more often.
