Beware of Trains

Train Time

I did indeed take Caltrain up to Mountain View and one of the various shuttles from there that serve the business parks in the area, and as I thought it would, this gave me all the incentive to work a more or less normal work day instead of a 12-hour slog. That's because you do have to leave at specific times to catch the bus back to the train station. On top of that, it's probably slightly cheaper to take transit than to drive.

I'll train it in again tomorrow, but not Thursday because I have to go up to our company warehouse in Fremont that day. Friday, ironically, because I plan to take the train to the BASFA baseball outing (assuming we ever find out how we're going to get our tickets), I'll need to drive to work in order to be able to carry my baseball gear and somewhere to store my work stuff when I drive after work to Caltrain in Mountain View to catch a train up to the The City. I'd much rather go back to the hotel in Santa Clara, stow my computer, and grab my Giants bag, but I don't think I can manage it.

In now looks increasingly likely that Lisa won't be able to get down here at all and will have to skip the baseball trip. She hopes to be able to get in to her dentist (who has been on vacation) tomorrow on an emergency basis to deal with the crown problem, but that's not guaranteed. She now predicts that the best she'll be able to do is meet me in Yuba City where we have work do to on the storage locker over the long weekend (I'm taking next Monday off) ahead.
