Dispatches from SMOFCon, Day 2
This morning, I had to be up early for a 7 AM breakfast meeting of the CanSMOF Board of Directors. We held the Board meeting after breakfast out on the hotel patio, with this view. We were initially short of a quorum, and considered co-opting these two, but thought better of it.

After breakfast, I met up with Linda Deneroff and Scott Dennis and we walked over to the US Bank branch to get some WSFS MPC banking issues settled.

I feel a bit bad that I ended up skipping all of the convention programming during the day, but I did help out with the 2015 Worldcon's hosting of lunch in the Con Suite. After lunch, I was so tired that I went back to the room and took a nap for at least an hour. That turned out to be a good thing, because the Probability & Statistics Seminar (Texas Hold-Em Poker Tournament) was Saturday evening after the Fannish Inquisition. Lisa and I got down to the ballroom very early so she could get her camera set up and talk to presenters before the event, and I took over one of the tables in the back of the room and spent much of the evening getting chip stacks settled and ready to go. Results of the tournament tomorrow.

The 2015 SMOFCon will be in Fort Worth TX, which defeated Colorado Springs CO in only the third time in the history of SMOFCon that the selection came down to a vote of the members. The other past years have had uncontested bids. One of the past two contested bids ended in a tie vote and was decided by a coin flip.

More results from the Inquisition and the Tournament on Sunday. I do not expect to have the videos uploaded until after we get home and have time to edit things together. I must get some sleep. Fortunately, I don't have another 7 AM meeting, but I do have a 10 AM panel.

Current Mood: sleepy
