For a Change

After work today, I drove to Sparks to get the oil changed. We "used up" the last one on the long Loscon-SMOFCon-Tonopah trip in November-December, and with us planning another road trip this weekend, it seemed like a good idea to get the fluids changed again. It costs more in maintenance costs, but it's probably one of the reasons I've been able to put more than 300,000 miles on the Astro.

The oil change itself went routinely. As I was heading home out of Sparks, I decided to stop at the Alamo truck stop and buy a soda. When I got out of the van it hit me (semi-literally, as I felt the cold): I'd left my jacket back at Jiffy Lube! Fortunately, I had enough time to drive back and get my jacket before they closed. I would have been very annoyed if I'd gotten all the way home before realizing this, and it would have cost me another trip to Sparks tomorrow to get it back.
