Reno

Taking Advantage of a Bargain

Lisa wanted some bulk electrical wire for her current Sekrit Project. To our bemusement, we discovered at Home Depot that it would be cheaper to buy a bunch of US-made extension cords and cut the ends off as needed than to buy Chinese-made bulk cable. The extension cords are a heavier gauge wire as well, which suits her too. After an initial purchase earlier in the week confirmed her test case, she wanted to go back into town and buy more of the extension cords before they run out. So as soon as I could on Friday afternoon we ran into Reno, bought more cable and various electronic parts. One of them could only be found at West Marine (which seems to be a place where Lisa can find US-made small electronic parts), but she says it will work.

As we were close to WinCo Foods when we finished the hardware shopping, we went there as well. By the time we were finished, rush hour traffic and several accidents on Reno-Sparks highways led us to take the long (but uncongested) way around to Sparks, where we stopped for Friday Fish Dinner at the Iron Skillet before heading home. But by the time we got home, I was so tired that I went to bed without writing about it, leading me to write this back-dated entry the following morning.
