The wood putty that Lisa applied yesterday was dry enough to sand it down today.

Sanding the Deck

Lisa used the belt sander to sand down the patio deck, after of course putting on her respirator. The dust from sanding can be hazardous.

Note the board covering the hole where the water line runs up from the deck. Lisa says that board was already there when she started the work on the porch and she has put it back over the hole until she gets around to building something better.

Sanding the Woodbox

While Lisa had the belt sander out, she also sanded down the top of the small "satellite" woodbox that lives on the front porch during the parts of the year when we need the fireplace. The paint was peeling, and she plans to repaint it when she paints the rear deck.

It's a time of the year when we can be productive. And also time to start laying in firewood. Lisa has been working very hard outside, while I'm head-down over the Day Jobbe.
