Lot Clearance

Yesterday, the contractor working on clearing the vacant lot to the west of Fernley House came back, removed more brush and other debris, and hauled it away.

Lot Clearance

That's the west side of Fernley House and the fence that separates our lot from the now increasingly-barren lot.

Lot Clearance

I assume that with all of this work, there are plans to actually develop this lot for something. What actually happens isn't clear, though. I haven't been paying close attention to the Fernley Planning Commission notices.

Yesterday evening was almost warm, and Lisa and I sat on the porch for a while watching the birds eat the birdseed we set out for them. This was the first day this year that the weather was warm enough to do so. We then went over to that increasingly vacant lot and salvaged more pieces of burnable-sized logs and hauled them back to our house. Lisa will later cut these down to a size that will fit into the fireplace. With luck, they'll make usable firewood this autumn.
