Inside Slider
[A reminder that while I continue to cross-post to LJ, the current world situation means that LJ may disappear from the internet, and thus if you're still following me, you should do so via Dreamwidth. I only still post here because I paid for a life membership, which is presumably defined as "my life or LiveJournal's."]
When I checked last night's weather forecast, I saw that it was for a pretty cold day, a Special Weather Statement of an "inside slider" (a cold front moving north to south, as opposed to our normal west-to-east weather movement), and a 1% chance of precipitation.

I didn't realize it until I went outside this morning to wave at this morning's westbound California Zephyr, but overnight we did get this tiny little bit of "corn" snow.
By the time I saw this, the sun was well up, but the air temperature was still below freezing, so any of the bits of snow that were in the shade were still hanging in there.
I threw a couple of more logs on the fire, knowing that the rest of this week is likely to warm up enough that I might even be able to allow the fire to go out for a while, albeit probably not overnight just yet.
