Re-Boosted

I noticed this morning that there were available appointments for COVID-19 shots starting at 11:30 AM at the same pharmacy in Sparks where we had received our first three shots. Lisa agreed that, now that people 50 and older are eligible for a second booster shot, there was no time like the present to get boosted. I made our appointments, printed the paperwork that we each had to sign, and we headed for Sparks.

We were about 30 minutes early for our appointment, but there was nobody ahead of us, and relatively little wait before the pharmacist shot us up. We then took care of some grocery shopping that we could have postponed another week but that we figured we might as well do since we were already here, then headed home. Lisa made us a nice lamb stew, just before the weather turns too warm for stew.

We're both very happy to get another booster shot. And yes, we'll keep getting them. Sure, we get sore shoulders, just like we do from flu shots, tetanus boosters, shingles vaccines, and so forth, but it's small beer compared to getting sick. And because most people around these parts haven't even had one shot, let alone four, we're still wearing N95 masks and treating most people as potential plague carriers. If that makes us weird, well, we're live weirdos who aren't getting sick.
