Counting Publications

Today I've been going through Westercon 74's registration database to determine to whom we have to send their program books (and badges). As part of doing so, I found a member who was initially marked as not having attended but who I know was there because they were on the committee and I worked with them, so we now have 159 badges-picked-up, and that's what I'm counting as the "warm body count" for the purpose of the Westercon Long List.

Supporting members and attending members who did not attend get publications. Excluding deceased members, guest-ofs not transferred to an individual, and people who never gave us a mailing address, we have 164 post-con packages to mail out. By a strange coincidence, that's exactly how many 9x12 mailing envelopes we still have left. I counted how many program books we brought back from Tonopah, and determined that we will have to print 21 more program books. That shouldn't be a problem now that we have got the printer cleaned up. Possibly we'll be able to get this done this coming week, but if not then, probably during the first week of August. Because there are advertisements of a timely nature (for the two 2024 NASFiC bids), I want to get these out to the membership soon.
