Lot Paving
We were surrounded by paving contractors yesterday.
This is some of the equipment that was in use yesterday. There were also a couple of trucks full of fresh asphalt.
Workers unloaded the equipment and proceeded to use some of it to re-clear and re-level the lot to the west of Fernley House that was roughly cleared some time ago. Then they brought the paving equipment in to put down a layer of tarmac. We closed most of the windows, especially on the west-facing side of the house, to prevent the fumes from coming into the house.
Around 5 PM they packed up most of the equipment and the workers left, but they left the trailer with the paving equipment parked near our house.
I took a couple more photos this morning.
I do not know whether this is all they are going to pave or if they will be back to do more soon. As of this morning, there was no sign of additional activity, but their trailer of paving equipment is still there. I also still do not know what the plans are for this lot. If they plan to put either a business or a small apartment building (both were suggested by the realtor to whom I spoke some time ago), maybe this is the planned parking are for it, which would be good as it would keep whatever new building is going here separated from our house.
