Lisa says she has been reading the comments about Railway Legends, Myths, and Stories , and is thinking about them for future episodes. One thing she had already known was not right was that our "studio" (i.e our living room) is too dark. Even after she significantly increased the lighting by mounting extra lights, including a couple that we only use when shooting video or when I'm on a Zoom call, it's still too dark. Today, some new lights that she ordered last week (before we released the most recent episode) arrived. This is a pair of The Lowel Pro-light Focusing Flood Lights. They are very bright; so much so that when she first tested them, I had spots before my eyes, meaning they probably shouldn't shine directly into my face. This is the area where we shoot episodes with only our ordinary dual-bulb overhead florescent light. It looks okay here and is very serviceable. Indeed, this is where I do my Day Jobbe, as my desk is to the right of where I'm standing when I took this photo. It is, however, not really light enough to get the most out of our big camera, which is intended either for outdoor or bright studio lighting. One of it's main uses when originally sold was as a camera for doing field work for television stations. Lisa needs to get stands for these light, but she'll figure that out. For now, she just wanted to see how much brighter they make the studio. The new lights are adjustable to be used as spot lights... ...or in a more diffuse or "fill" light. Again, this is with only one of the two new lights running. Lisa will experiment with this more. She expects to be able to get much better results with better lighting.
