Welcome to Japan

We made it to Yokohama without too much incident. Minor excitement whereby we made the Narita Express with 30 seconds to spare -- otherwise it would have been an hour's wait until the next. Lisa rescued me from falling asleep on the Narita Express so we didn't overshoot our station. Decided to take a taxi rather than the subway mainly because we're so overloaded with luggage, but then the driver confused the "Intercontinental Grand" with the "New Grand," which is a different hotel.

And we were able to get a reservation on the Cassiopeia for September 12 from Sapporo!

Anyway, aside from fitful sleep on planes and such, we haven't had much sleep for most of the past 48 hours. It's 10:30 at night here, so this works out just fine, and we're going to bed shortly and spending tomorrow getting acclimated.
