Tooth Be Told

I went to my dentist this morning for a 7:45 AM appointment to have a very shallow cavity filled. When he started cleaning it up, he discovered that the decay was a little more widespread than was initially obvious on the surface or x-rays, so he had to do extra grinding. Fortunately, the decay was not so bad as to require numbing the area, which I hate, and I could put up with the tiny twinges from the drilling while he worked. After half an hour or so of grinding, poking of tooth-colored goo, weilding of blue lights to set the stuff, and polishing, I was good to do, with an injunction to chew only with the right side of my mouth for the next 24 hours.

Driving in to the dentist was fine, but the five miles from there to my office at 8:30 PM was a pain. It took thirty minutes door to door. Fortunately, the meeting I thought was at 9 AM was actually at 1:15 PM, so I wasn't late. This is why I've taken to working from home early and driving in later in the morning these days.
