Fixing a Hole

...in the mailbox, that is. I called the company that manages our condominium complex about the broken lock on my mailbox, and they told me that they don't manage those locks; it's up to the individual unit owner. Okay, so then I called the property-management company that rents my apartment to me, and they called a locksmith. I'll work from home tomorrow and give him lots of flexibility on when he comes by to replace the lock.

There are bits and pieces of the lock inside the box. No other mailboxes were broken in our "stack" of boxes. It doesn't look like it will be a difficult job to fix, and because the locksmith will be there tomorrow, there's no point in putting a hold on my mail. I might have to contact the Fremont post office to tell them "the box is fixed," though.
