Send in the Clones, Again
Before taking the van to the dealership in Stayton to start the repair process, I set my working computer (#1) to work cloning its hard drive to the drive that was refusing to boot on the other computer (#2). When I got back, the clone was complete.
I put the clone in working-machine-#1. It booted without difficulty.
I moved the clone over to suspect-machine-#2. It booted without difficulty. I have since rebooted #2 twice without a problem. I do not expect this situation to last. #2 will eventually stop booting, for no obvious reason.
