Getting Into Training

I'm packing for this weekend's out-and-back train trip. I'm trying to pack relatively lightly, but it's not easy when you carry a CPAP machine. I still haven't decided whether I'm going to take it or not. I'm trying to arrange things so that I can manage with only the computer backpack and an overnight bag, without my briefcase. But then there's my camera and my radio, and batteries for same. Sigh. Fortunately -- unless they've changed things recently -- I can store bags in Sacramento. I have the choice of leaving at 8 AM or 10 AM, depending on whether I want to spend six hours or four at Sacramento attending National Train Day events there. The 10 AM departure seems more likely, given that I'll be on the San Joaquin until after 10 PM tomorrow night -- why get up earlier than I really need? And I must remember to call the hotel tomorrow afterntoon to make sure they send their courtesy van for me.
