- There's a good chance that I won't have enough bandwidth from the hotels and facilities to upload the files.
- My Vimeo account (which will accept files longer than ten minutes, unlike YouTube) has a 500 MB/week limit. The Westercon Business Meeting video was about 200 MB for 30 minutes. The Worldcon meetings are likely to be three meetings of up to 2 1/2 hours.
- It takes time to convert the video down from source files to something I can upload. The source file of the 30-minute BM was 2,096 MB before I converted it using Windows Movie Maker. It took me around 30-40 minutes to edit the titles and subtitles, about 50 minutes for WMM to convert it down to the 200 MB file, and another 45 minutes to upload it on my pretty decent home DSL connection.
I think it very likely that I'll end up converting the files down to a much-less-quality version in order to (I hope) get the file sizes down to where I might be able to fit at least the first two meetings in under the cap. I also am unlikely to include much in the way of titling the way I did with the Westercon BM, because I'm just not going to have the time. Maybe post-con I'll have time to do a more-elaborate version. That still doesn't solve the amount of bandwidth I'll need to upload that much data, but that's something we won't know much about until we get there and see what's available.
If I can figure out a way to do the uploads, I'll do it; otherwise, it will have to wait until I return to my home connection.
