This is the large open field that makes up a good chunk of the property. Everything in this photo, up to the row of tall trees running across the middle of the picture, is part of the core of the original family homestead. That's Lisa's father out in the middle of the field, taking advantage of the cool-but-not-raining weather to dig weeds out of the field.
On the other side of the trees is Oregon Highway 22, and then the property continues on the opposite site of the road; however, that section is being left in a wild, undeveloped state. Trying to do anything with it would be a nightmare, I think.
I actually would like to get out in the cool, overcast, cloudy weather today and cut more wood, because it is much easier on me to shed heat in today's weather; however, the Day Jobbe beckons and obviously has to have first priority during working hours.
