And Then There Was 1

Giants complete sweep of of Arizona; Padres lose. Magic number = 1. With the Padres coming in to play the Giants in a three-game series starting tomorrow, it means that the Giants cannot lose the division this weekend. The worst possible case would be the Padres somehow rallying to sweep the Giants, which would cause a tie and force a one-game playoff on Monday.

The Giants can thus win the National League West by winning one of the next three games. I've been in the stands once when the Giants clinched the division, back in the Candlestick days, but I won't be able to be there this time, although I wish I could be. Go Giants!
