Lights Out

This afternoon the dealership in Sublimity called to let me know that they'd finished replacing the blower fan on my van and that I could come pick it up. Lisa drove me there and I paid the $190 to redeem the van. It was cloudy and overcast and getting on toward early evening, so when I started the van, I turned on the lights even though it wasn't necessarily required. Lisa, in her vehicle, started to wave at me to stop. She pulled up alongside me and informed me that one of my headlights was out. The dealership didn't have any in stock, so Lisa and I quickly drove over to a nearby auto parts store and bought two new headlights, then headed home after one other brief errand stop, getting home before it got dark enough to really need the lights.

I already had one spare headlight from the last time a headlight burned out, but we decided to get two fresh ones and leave me with two spares, simply because we could and because we weren't in a tight spot. I parked the van in Lisa's father's garage (his vehicle is still in Salem for repairs) and we'll work on replacing both headlights tomorrow.
